      James B. King





James B. King is the President of his own Consulting Firm specializing in Total Quality Management, Business Process Re-Engineering, Design-to-Cost & Supply Chain Management, Outsourcing, Performance Measurements, Supplier Partnerships & Business Strategy Deployment.

Jim began his career at the Ford Motor Company and has held numerous management positions in Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing and Service functions within Ford.

In March, 1984, Mr. King joined Allegheny International, Inc., in Pittsburgh as the Director of Quality with responsibility for the development and implementation of a Total Quality Management system until he joined Coopers & Lybrand in 1986.

Jim was a Partner of Coopers & Lybrand until January 1993, and had responsibility for the Total Quality Management practice in the United States. His experience also includes development and conduct of executive seminars on TQM, JIT, Six Sigma, World Class Manufacturing, Supplier Partnerships, Design-to-Cost, Supply Chain Management & Performance Measures at Duke, Cornell & Wharton, presentations at National Quality meetings and symposiums, and lead partner in major consulting engagements with Fortune 100 and smaller companies, both in the U.S. and internationally.

His client list includes the Ford Motor Company, Johnson & Johnson worldwide, School Specialty, ABB worldwide, Westinghouse Electric Co., Lafarge Group, Kraft Foods, Inc., Louis Hornick & Co., Alfa Laval, Quaker Chemical, Coca Cola Bottling, & Quaker State; just to name a few.

Mr. King holds B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University and a M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Michigan. He was also a NIST appointed Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Examiner for the past few years.
